Julia McGinnis ~ Breeder/Rescue/Trainer/Groomer

Welcome to our site! Since you are here, you are considering trying to find your Family a healthy, lovable, easy to handle, affordable companion. This can be a scary process......It does NOT have to be! I have included information below to help you in your search of your "forever" pet. Taking time to visit these websites will enhance your search experience, and also help you in choosing which breed will most likely be the best choice for your living situation. Information is your key in dealing with the thousands of breeders that are available to you!

"Consumer Resources: Making a Sound Informed Decision"

The official website of the American Kennel Club;  www.akc.org  is a wealth of information  concerning dog breeds, their characteristics ( "AKC" standards ), breed specific health information, AKC Registration information, Show information, Breeder listings, and a vast array of topics you will be interested in.

Another good website concerning buying a puppy and pet adoptions is visiting the Humane Society of the United States main website, www.hsus.org  They have amassed a tremendous amout of helpful information to inform consumers about the responsibilities of pet ownership, and also tips and info concerning choosing your companion.

In addition, another great website I have found is: www.buyingapuppy.com. This website gives potential new owners very useful information to help protect you from a scam or purchasing a sick puppy. It also covers helpful tips and clues in accessing the danger signs of a bad breeder, how to avoid the "breeder for puppy profits", and general information in determining thoughtful questions to ask not only the breeder-but yourself as well. I do not have a business affiliation with any of these sites, I am providing this information to you so you can investigate these sites on your own to make a sound decision for your Family concerning companion ownership, and hopefully learn a few things in this process!

After you have done your research, and you are still interested in a Miniature Schnauzer as your Family companion, listed below is my "Breeder Bill of Rights"-this is my structure and philosophy, that I live by as a Breeder.

I consider myself a Professional Hobby Breeder, which simply means I ONLY breed to IMPROVE AND ENHANCE THE BREED, occasionaly for Show Prospects, as my goal. I companion train the Mini's, guiding them from their first steps, to ensure that they are healthy, intelligent, and easily handled by your Family in your home.

MY RESPONSIBILITIES, GOALS, & MISSION:

Our PARENTS HAVE BEEN SCREENED FOR GENETIC DISEASES & HAVE BEEN VET APPROVED FOR BREEDING!!  Our Sire ( Father) and our Dam (Mother) are our personal Family companions and live inside our home with us. We select parent(s) that conform to the "AKC Standards" to achieve:   "Solid" bone to maintain square Schnauzer confirmation, supreme lush coats, playful-outgoing temperaments; and of course excellent health!!. Our babies are happy, healthy, alert, intelligent, and Vet checked.  . In our home, we patiently assist our females with their delivery of all babies, to ensure mother and babies are healthy and thriving!  Our state licensed Vet "docks" tails, and removes their "dual-claws"; and inspects all puppies before home placement. You will receive a "Health Certificate"; signed by our Vet; record of health maintenance/Reminder schedule for continued vaccinations; AKC Registration Application Form ( if applicable ); Pedigree;( if applicable to sale) Bill of Sale; Written Health Gaurantee, Written AKC Regulation Information Form ( if applicable ), and a personalized Puppy Packet. All puppies are de-wormed at 4, 6, & 8 weeks of age. Vaccinations are also implemented and recorded. All babies are professionaly groomed. They are also started on"HeartGard" ( heartworm prevention maintenance medication) and "FrontLine" ( flea and tick prevention application). Our babies begin the process of 'potty-training" as soon as they are following after me; generally around 3 to 4 weeks of age. We also begin working-on-leash, to familarize puppies to their Master's commands. They will be learning several commands, using the positive reward system. New Families will be instructed how to implement and maintain commands.

PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING!

Our #1 priority is for you and your Family to be thrilled with your new Family Member! Schnauzers are NOT for "everyone". Although Schnauzers are considered non-shedding, they NEED and require DAILY GROOMING! They will also NEED professionaly groomed at least every 4-5 weeks. They MUST be at their Masters feet! and live INDOORS with their Family! Schnauzers will "fail-to-thrive" if they are not maintained in these humane conditions.

You are always welcome to call & visit!
